We adopted Peanut (left) from the SF SPCA Pacific Heights Campus, formerly Pets Unlimited, in 2004. At that time she was in pretty bad shape after being mauled by another dog. She was the most affectionate, quiet puppy, and from day one she was quite the character. She has always considered herself a person and honestly, we do, too! She acted like a mother to our new baby (he is 11 years old now) and has literally been called "the best dog ever" by anyone who meets her. She is no spring chicken anymore, but she is spending her elder years sneaking into beds, snoring loudly, and twinning with her adopted sister, Charlie. The two ladies enjoy posing endlessly for their @nutandchuck Instagram, where they are huge advocates of "adopt don't shop" and love sharing other shelter animal's stories in hopes of helping them find their forever homes, too.
